Kassim Doumbia is the Supervisor of Housing Programs and Services for the Ministry of Social Development.
He oversees a team of 12 people who work to improve the living conditions of low and middle-income families and individuals by providing affordable housing by administering programs focused on the development of healthy and sustainable living environments.
Kassim Doumbia is committed to helping his community thrive, to embrace diversity, and to grow. Kassim works actively with key players in the community to ensure a better quality of life for citizens. First elected in 2012 as a Shippagan City Councilor and appointed Deputy Mayor in 2016, he became the first New Acadian to hold such a position. He is involved at many levels in his community as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Committee of Reception, Integration, and Settlement of Newcomers of the Acadian Peninsula, Member of the Board of Governors of the University of Moncton, Vice-Chair of the Community Committee of Uni Coopération Financière.
