RePresent NB, a bilingual program, empowers individuals from immigrant, refugee, and racialized backgrounds by providing them with the skills, training, and opportunities to actively engage in decision-making processes on Boards, Agencies, Commissions, and Committees (BACCs) throughout the province. Through a series of five retreats, participants from diverse backgrounds come together to learn, network, and showcase their leadership aspirations and contributions to their communities.
This project ended on March 31st, 2024. We had a total of 3 cohorts (French and English) totalling 60 participants, of which 92% percent of participants completed the program. In addition, the participants indicated a strong desire to give back to their communities through board participation unlike at the start of the program where many felt unequipped to meaningfully contribute. Already 6 participants have found placements on Boards from the first cohort in 2022-2023 many are still in process and are contributing to community events in their area. For more information on the outcomes please consult the following report.
