Skills Launch
Through a blend of experiential learning and workplace experience, we connect local employers with newcomer jobseekers.
The Skills Launch Immigrant and Refugee Employability Project for Youth and for Adults supports and guides immigrants and refugees. It combines occupational and sector-specific orientations, workplace essential skills, and supportive work placements. The program supports both young and adult newcomers in their process to learn, explore, and succeed in New Brunswick and turn their Canadian job dreams into reality.
The two different programs are designed for the specific needs of newcomers aged 18 to 30, and newcomers aged 30+. Skills Launch puts its participants on the path to full-time work or further education and training. Participants in the full-time program learn about Canadian workplaces and the local labour market, hone their job search and interview skills, study career-focused language, receive wellness coaching and get local work experience through a paid job placement.
