←2021 Champions

Fatoumata Guindo is an African international student from Mali, who is in her final year of study in Business Administration (Management) at the Université de Moncton (UdeM). She decided to get involved to help international students because of the warm welcome she personally received. Fatoumata is the President of the International Students’ Association, with an international student population of more than a thousand students at the UdeM campus in Moncton. One project she has worked on in this role is the creation of and fundraising for scholarships for international students, after realizing many university scholarships required citizenship as part of their eligibility requirements.

Fatoumata takes to heart community and the coming together of different cultures, which led her to sit on various committees. She is the Vice-President of the New Brunswick Council for People of African Descent, as well as the Financial Officer on the Executive of the Association of Malians of Moncton, and a member of the Committee on Women and Gender Equality at UdeM.
