FREDERICTON – In the wake of the recent announcement of Cohesia closing its doors, the New Brunswick Multicultural Council is honoured to continue the work initiated by an organization that was built on the foundation of social cohesion and equity.
Effective September 29, 2023, NBMC will officially assume responsibility over two of Cohesia’s initiatives:
- Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism (EDIAR) services.
- The Social Cohesion Lab for Youth.
The Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Anti-Racism (EDIAR) services provided by NBMC will focus on empowering individuals and organizations to create environments that are welcoming, diverse, and free from discrimination. Through educational programs, advocacy, and partnerships, NBMC aims to advance the cause of social justice and inclusion.
The Social Cohesion Lab for Youth will provide a platform for young people to engage in meaningful dialogue, build bridges, and promote understanding among diverse communities.
NBMC extends its deepest appreciation to the entire Cohesia team for their trust, dedication, and the transformative impact they have made in the province. Cohesia’s impact will continue to inspire NBMC as we embark on this new chapter.
