CATAPULTE Program: Unlocking the Potential of Young Newcomers
What is CATAPULTE?
CATAPULTE is an innovative program designed to support recently arrived students, refugees, vulnerable youth, and those from visible minorities. This pilot project, in collaboration with New Brunswick school districts and multicultural organizations, helps young people overcome educational challenges and thrive in secondary education. It aims to strengthen their skills and open opportunities for post-secondary education or the job market.
Key Program Objectives (October 2024 – May 2025)
-
Support 10 to 12 students per school: young newcomers facing significant learning obstacles.
-
Strengthen essential skills: language, writing, digital literacy, communication, and numeracy.
-
Facilitate school reintegration: by bridging educational gaps and supporting students with little or no recognized academic records.
How does CATAPULTE work?
-
10 hours of weekly support over 9 months: flexible sessions held at school or a Francophone reception center.
-
Specialized coaching: a qualified coordinator provides a curriculum focused on linguistic, digital, sociocultural skills, and career exploration.
-
Personalized follow-up with CATAPULTE Orbite: regular meetings to track progress and support educational or professional projects after the program.
A Springboard to Success
CATAPULTE opens new doors for determined young individuals, helping them achieve their full potential.
