FREDERICTON – The New Brunswick Multicultural Council commends the Nurses Association of New Brunswick on the recent introduction of an expedited registration process for internationally educated nurses. This initiative is a major step forward in creating a more inclusive and culturally diverse healthcare system in our province.

The expedited registration process, announced by the NANB, aims to reduce the registration timeline for nurses from 14 designated countries, from 12 to 18 months to as few as 14 days. “This is a significant milestone in New Brunswick’s journey towards a more inclusive healthcare system,” stated Maura McKinnon, Executive Director of the New Brunswick Multicultural Council.

By enacting this change, NANB acknowledges the value that nurses with culturally diverse backgrounds will bring to New Brunswick. This initiative sets an inspiring example for other regulatory bodies, highlighting the importance of a multicultural and inclusive environment in regulated professions.
