MONCTON – Immigrants and refugees coming to New Brunswick can face many hurdles on their journey to integrate and establish themselves, including barriers to justice.  For those with limited financial means, legal support can be out of reach.  The New Brunswick Multicultural Council is pleased to announce a new partnership that will help to alleviate those barriers.

McInnes Cooper and the New Brunswick Multicultural Council invite you to the signing of an agreement that will provide pro bono legal services to immigrants throughout New Brunswick, whose access to justice is limited due to financial and social barriers.

“This partnership will assist in the transition for new immigrants to Canada, specifically New Brunswick, by making legal services more accessible,” said Jeff Hoyt, McInnes Cooper’s Regional Lead Partner in New Brunswick. “We are pleased to collaborate with the New Brunswick Multicultural Council on this initiative.”

“Setting up a business can be a complicated process – especially if English or French is not your first language,” said Mike Timani, President of the New Brunswick Multicultural Council.  “This arrangement will help immigrants who are setting up businesses, as well as others, to make sure they are set for success here in New Brunswick. By retaining newcomers and supporting them to be successful, we will make New Brunswick successful.”
